Communications Center where trained personnel will get you the help you need.
Tell the emergency communications officer who answers your call:
- Your name and phone number
- Description of the emergency
- Exact location of the emergency
- Other requested information
- Listen for any possible instructions
- Wait until the dispatcher ends the call
REMEMBER: 9-1-1 IS FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY. In some locations, such as office buildings with a PBX, it may be necessary to dial an access number (usually the digit 9) to obtain an outside line before you can dial 9-1-1.
